Society of London Theatre (SOLT) has launched a video to
highlight the wealth of access initiatives available across London theatre and
specifically how SOLT and UK Theatre are supporting accessibility.

Ronan Keating Joins The West End!
On 17 November 2014Ronan Keating will join the West End
cast of Olivier award-winning musical Once,
to play the leading role of Guy.

Keating said: “I think there's going to be lots to
learn and lots to gain from this experience and I just want to be the absolute
best that I can be."
Directed by John Tiffany,the West End production of Once
opened in April 2013 and is currently booking at the Phoenix Theatre to 4 July
2015.

Access For Disabled
A
mother of three suffering from Motor Neurone Disease, a progressive disease
which attacks the nerves of the brain and spinal cord, has founded a brand new
charity to tackle the ever growing need for better facilities for the
physically disabled in the UK. The Association for the Independence of
Disabled People (AID) aims to improve the life of the disabled with better
access in public buildings and on transport and there are plans to launch an
annual ‘Disabled Day’ to raise national awareness.

many public places are too difficult for visitors with mobility problems to get
to.
My blog will stop
the usual worry of phoning round or frantically searching the Internet to find
out if places are accessible and will become the first place to look at. You’ll
no longer have to trust someone’s version of ‘access’, who may not know, and you
will also be able to add your own recommendations.
