Chill In A Cottage

The UK heatwave has sparked an increase in demand for cottage breaks.

With the heatwave in full swing, holidaycottages.co.uk has reported a sharp increase in demand for self-catering holidays this summer.
The heatwave forecast appears to have motivated people to holiday in the UK, with an increase in bookings by almost a tenth (9.7 per cent) over the weekend and the number of searches for UK holiday breaks up by nearly a fifth (17.3 per cent).
The sunshine has encouraged Brits to book last minute cottage breaks, with holidaycottages.co.uk seeing an increase of visitors (26.4 per cent) to the ‘last minute’ page on the website, as people want to make the most of the sunny British weather whilst it lasts.

Regions proving particularly popular include Cornwall (increase in searches of 36 per cent), followed by Scotland which was up by a quarter (25 per cent) and Devon which saw an increase in searches of 22 per cent. In addition, visits to the dog-friendly cottages pages received a 132 per cent increase this weekend confirming that holidays in the UK are for the whole family.
James Morris, managing director holidaycottages.co.uk commented:
“The UK is currently one of the hottest countries on the continent so it’s the perfect time for Brits to enjoy the sun without the hassle of getting on an aeroplane.”

Where do you go in the heat?
