More Holiday Access Needed

Research has shown highlight the need for the UK holiday industry to offer a wide choice for those who may have specific accessibility requirements


The finding comes after holidaycottages.co.uk see a 23 per cent increase in bookings for accessible properties year on year.

The lettings agent has almost 200 increased accessibility properties in its portfolio as it continues to meet the requirements of all holidaymakers. Guests can choose from a wide range of properties with increased accessibility including family friendly options, beautiful coastal properties and even cottages on a working farm. The total number of accessible cottages in the company’s collection has increased just over 26 per cent year on year in 2014.

 Accessible properties  include  Cory Farm Stanbury Cottage and Folke Manor Woodpecker.

For a property to be considered as having increased accessibility it is required to meet a number of requirements including; properties that are on one level or have the living accommodation, bedroom and bathroom on one level as well as step-free access to the property with adequate and close parking.
