A survey of almost 900 parents found that family holidays
were preferred by 65 per cent of respondents compared to just 35 per cent of
parents claiming they would prefer to indulge in a babymoon and take one last
holiday before the baby arrives.
Family holidays proved most popular with the under-five age bracket, with
almost 7,500 children (equivalent to 32 per cent of the seventeen and younger
group) enjoying a cottage holiday this year to date.
Self-catered holidays in the UK offer a far more flexible style of holiday for
families with children and most properties also have features such as enclosed
gardens, travel cots, high chairs and play facilities to ensure a relaxing and
enjoyable holiday.
James Morris, Managing Director, holidaycottages.co.uk said: “Since the
beginning of 2013 we’ve added over 500 family friendly properties across the UK
to our portfolio.”
