Diamond Resorts International revealed that sunseekers are
flocking to The Canaries, with a 10 per cent year-on-year increase for the
Easter period. For those fed up of unreliable weather reports, The Canaries’
guarantee of year-round sunshine is proving too tempting to resist.
The growing appeal of Easter breaks abroad is also likely to
be due to the Pound’s seven year high against the Euro. Broadly speaking, Brits
can enjoy an extra £10 of spending power for every £100 spent in the
Eurozone.
However, the optimists who believe spring has finally sprung
in the UK make up 41 per cent of half term holidaymakers who are embracing the
belated sunshine to staycation for the Easter break.
Following reports that the UK weather is two weeks behind its average seasonal temperature, the more hopeful British holidaymakers are being lifted from the long winter lull with the promise of sunnier climes during the half term period.
