The UK desperately searches for bank holiday getaways – but it can’t commit.




Following the recent heatwave warning for next week, Britain has been busy online looking for where to spend the upcoming bank holiday.


Over 100,000 searches were made in just one day for the bank holiday weekend on LateRooms.com alone, so the online hotel booking expert decided to take a look at how Britain wants to spend its bank holiday and the results were…well, inconclusive.


Customers searched for everything from city breaks to romantic getaways and it seems they’re yet to settle on one. The weather is playing havoc with our heads (and plans) and it’s affecting consumer choices. To help fickle Britain get off the fence, LateRooms.com has revealed some of the top destinations searched - so which bank holiday maker are you?


The part time city slicker, London
London, as always, is a proving a popular option for big spenders and hostel hunters alike. From living it up in the penthouse suite to sharing a dorm with people from all walks of life, London provides the perfect break for those craving a big city fix. If you’re keen for a weekend of back-to-back activities then you’re in luck; hop on and off the city sightseeing tour bus, browse the TATE and get goosebumps at a musical, this city has something for everyone.
